Every patient understood.
In any language.

Babel Medical turns any tablet into a multilingual intake kiosk and front-desk translator for urgent care, walk-in clinics, and community health centers — eight languages, built-in safety flags, no new hardware.

Providers receiving federal funds are required to offer meaningful language access (Title VI / Section 1557). Babel Medical helps you meet that obligation — visibly, at the front desk.

How it works

1

The patient taps their language on a tablet in your lobby.

2

They complete your intake — guided, read aloud, in their language.

3

Your front desk sees it in English: flagged, queued, exportable.

Built for the front desk, not the IT department

Intake in the patient's language

Patients complete your intake form in Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Urdu, or Russian — with full right-to-left support and read-aloud for low-literacy patients. The front desk receives it in English.

Two-way live translation

A tablet between staff and patient becomes a live interpreter for front-desk conversations — speak or type, with one-tap common phrases.

Safety callouts, built in

Chest pain, trouble breathing, severe pain, and medication–allergy conflicts are flagged for staff the moment an intake arrives — and patients reporting red-flag symptoms are told to alert the front desk immediately, in their language.

A real patient queue

Wait timers that escalate, urgent patients first, one-tap call-back and complete. Front-desk staff see door-to-provider time at a glance.

Your forms, our engine

We digitize your existing intake form during onboarding — your questions and consent language, professionally translated — with the safety layer always on.

Privacy by design

The demo stores nothing on any server. Production runs per-clinic isolated encrypted databases, BAAs across the chain, audit trails, and minimal retention.

Common questions

Does Babel Medical replace medical interpreters?

No — and it shouldn't. Babel Medical handles administrative intake and front-desk communication, and every machine-translated field is labeled for verification. For clinical conversations, qualified interpreters remain the standard. What it does do is remove the language barrier from the 15 minutes of paperwork before care starts — and help you meet Title VI / Section 1557 language-access obligations visibly.

What hardware do we need?

Any modern tablet with a web browser — an iPad at the front desk is the typical setup. No installs, no special hardware, no IT project.

How long does setup take?

Days, not months. During onboarding we digitize your existing intake form — your questions and consent language, professionally translated into every supported language — and you review it on a tablet before going live.

Is it HIPAA-ready?

This demo stores no patient information on any server — data lives only in the tablet's browser, and free-text translation requests are processed transiently by the translation service, never stored. Production deployments run per-clinic isolated encrypted databases, signed BAAs across the vendor chain, full audit logging, and minimal retention. See our Security & Privacy page for the full architecture.

Which languages are supported?

Eight at launch: English, Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Urdu, and Russian — including full right-to-left layouts for Arabic and Urdu. Additional languages can be added during onboarding.
